Welcome to Kitaro Waga and Breath Rituals ("we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy. We operate from Switzerland and process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nDSG) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What data we collect
Account and newsletter registration. When you create an account or subscribe to a newsletter or free course, we collect your first and last name, your email address, and any profile information you choose to provide voluntarily.
Payment information. Payment data is processed securely by Stripe and is never stored on our servers. We retain only transaction references and your purchase history.
Usage and analytics data. We collect anonymized interaction data such as pages visited, device type, browser, and traffic sources.
Cookies and tracking. We use cookies for essential functionality, analytics, and marketing (including the Meta Pixel). Where required, we ask for your consent, and you can manage or withdraw that consent at any time.
3. How we use your data
We use personal data to deliver courses and community access, send the newsletters you signed up for, process payments and prevent fraud, improve our content and website, and provide customer support. Each purpose rests on a legal basis such as contract performance, legitimate interest, legal obligation, or your consent.
4. Third-party services
We work with a small number of processors to run our services:
- Circle.so — community and course platform
- Kit (formerly ConvertKit) — email newsletters and courses
- Stripe — payment processing
- Google — analytics and YouTube embeds
- Meta — advertising measurement
Some of these providers may process data in the United States. Where that happens, appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses are in place.
5. Data retention
Account data is kept for the duration of your account plus up to 3 years after termination. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe, plus a short compliance period. Payment records are kept for 10 years as required by Swiss accounting law. Analytics data is typically retained for 14 to 26 months.
6. Your rights
You can request access to your data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw any consent you have given. You may also lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or your local EU supervisory authority.
7. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption and certified third-party processors.
8. Children's privacy
Our services are not intended for anyone under 16. If we learn that we hold data about a minor, we delete it upon notification.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Updates are posted on this page with a new date, and significant changes are communicated by email.
